Prenuptial Agreements

Protecting Estate & Business Interests

When we talk with engaged people who own significant assets, we often discuss Prenuptial Agreements. These agreements, sometimes called Antenuptial Agreements, are written contracts between "spouses-to-be" prior to their marriage. Prenuptial Agreements are unique to each couple but they typically include provisions for the division of property and rights to spousal support should the marriage end.

When our lawyers talk with people about marriage dissolution (divorce), we discuss the marital and family relationship as well as the financial matters that must be addressed. An amicable marriage dissolution can often be reached through mediation and negotiation. If a settlement cannot be reached, litigation is the next step.
